Following on from their eponymously titled 2014 debut album, prog-jazz collective Let Spin release their new recording Let Go on 23 October, on Efpi Records, and play a nationwide UK tour in support of the new album starting on 24 October. The quartet is comprised of a star cast that features Moss Project’s founder Moss Feed (guitar), Led Bib’s Chris Williams (sax), Finlay Panter (drums) of Beats & Pieces Big Band, and Ruth Goller (Bass) who plays with a host of UK acts including Melt Yourself Down and Oriole.
Written and recorded over an 18-month period, Let Go is evenly made up of compositions contributed by each member of the group, including ‘I Like To Sound Like A Rainforest’; Ruth Goller’s tribute to the late Charlie Haden, along with Chris Williams’ neatly titled homage to Walter White of Breaking Bad, ‘Walt’s Waltz’. The tour commences at Vortex in London (24 Oct) and continues at Jazz Café, Newcastle (27 Oct); Voodoo Rooms, Edinburgh (28 Oct); Bloc+, Glasgow (29 Oct); Gregson Arts Centre, Lancaster (30 Oct); Zeffirelli’s, Ambleside (31 Oct); and Fox & Newt, Leeds (1 Nov).
